Temple Fire Marshal's Office has determined a fire set at a vacant home in late August was intentional.
On August 28, firefighters were sent to the 600 block of S. 13th Street, where the extinguished the fire before it spread out of one room. The rest of the vacant home received smoke and heat damage.
Temple Fire & Rescue said there were no utilities connected to the home.
The U.S. Fire Administration says the leading cause of vacant home fires is intentional actions at 34 percent.
