Sheriff's office assists in human trafficking investigation

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Kosse Police Chief with a juvenile runaway from New York on Friday.

According to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Mark Morris and deputies located the juvenile and began an investigation. It then turned into a human trafficking investigation.

A search warrant was obtained and the residence was searched for evidence pertaining to this incident. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Limestone County Juvenile Detention Facility.

The male subject involved was arrested for trafficking of persons and interference with child custody, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office. Billy Herman Dunn Jr. is in the Limestone County Jail on an $80,000 bond.

A joint investigation between the Kosse Police Department, Limestone County Sheriff's Office, the District Attorney's Office, New York Police Department, the New York Attorney General and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are being conducted at this time.
