Bell County residents will see some electronic upgrades when they hit the voting booths this year.
The county is introducing new express voting machines this year in an effort to speed up and modernize the voting experience.
The new machines will allow voters to access the ballot with an activation card and use a touch screen to make their selections before printing out the ballot and dropping it in the counting machine.
Officials said the new machines are safe and the chance of hacking into them are slim since they are not connected to the internet.
The new machines do not count the ballots. There will be a printable ballot that will be counted later.
They are still providing paper ballots for people that prefer them.
