Texas Rangers arrested a woman after she grabbed another woman's arm after a Bellmead City Council meeting.

According to the arrest affidavit, the women attended a special city council meeting to discuss adopting the 2018 property tax rate on Aug. 29. After the meeting concluded, the victim was speaking with another person when Julie Sykora grabbed the victim's arm from behind and said something to her.

The victim pulled her arm away from Sykora, telling her to never touch her again.

Bellmead police who were present at the meeting separated the two women.

The victim later filed an assault report with the police. In her statement, she said she was assaulted by Sykora and the assaulted caused physical pain and bruising, the affidavit said.

After interviewing witnesses and photos of the victim's bruised arm, Texas Rangers arrested Sykora on Sept. 11.

She was booked into the McLennan County Jail on a misdemeanor assault charge.
