A man was arrested and charged after police said he inappropriately touched a 5-year-old girl in July 2017.
According to the affidavit, the victim’s mother reported to a deputy that her 5-year-old daughter told a family friend that the suspect “played the tickle game” and tried to tickle her under her underwear.
On July 5, 2017, as well as on another occasion, the suspect, 62-year-old David Medina, touched the victim.
During a sane exam, the victim stated that she was there because “Davey touched me.” She said he used his pinky finger to scratch at her “no-no spot” and she slapped his hand away.
The victim’s family member had met with the suspect at a location in Killeen in passing earlier that year. Medina did not tell the family member of his sex offender status.
After an investigation, officials learned that Medina was a registered sex offender because of an incident where the victim was not an adult.
Officials also learned that Medina was convicted of attempted sexual battery in 2008 of a 12-year-old girl in Florida. He was also convicted of indecency with a child by contact in 2010 with a 7-year-old girl in Texas.
Medina was charged and arrested for indecency with a child by sexual contact.
He was transported to the Bell County Jail. His bond is set at $120,000.
