Waco ISD will provide free meals to students thanks to the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program.
The district announced on Aug. 7 that students would be allowed to receive breakfast and lunch at no charge at all Waco ISD schools. Students will receive free meals in order to reduce "burdens for both families and school administrators."
There will be no more collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price and paid student meals.
La Vega ISD will also be participating in the program.
