Central Texas News Now is beginning a new series for on-air and online.

The "Forever Families" series will air every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 5. The series aims to tell the stories of children ready for adoption. The children are featured in the Heart Gallery of Central Texas.

"They say a picture is worth a thousand words and these are invaluable," said Marilyn Griggs, photographer and administrator of The Heart Gallery of Central Texas.

Griggs began as a volunteer herself more than ten years ago and the Heart Gallery has grown.  The Heart Gallery of Central Texas is a program of the nonprofit organization Partnerships for Children.

"There's all kinds of people out there, all kinds of kids and they're just looking for the right family," said Griggs.

Children in The Heart Gallery of Central Texas are local kids ready for adoption.  Their portrait is displayed in the traveling exhibit and online.

"Whenever the 'Forever Families' airs on a Wednesday, I'm ready Thursday," said Griggs.  "A lot of times, they never even thought about it and it inspired them to find out what the process is and get started," said Griggs.

The Heart Gallery relies on volunteer still photographers, whether professional or hobbyists to capture precious moments of the children.

"I've been able to help more children with what I've been doing.  Maybe someone would see that picture and that is the right home and the right family for them," said Griggs.
