Woman killed while crossing I-35 access road in Waco

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

Waco police said a woman was killed on Monday night as she was attempting to cross the Interstate 35 access road.

Police said 47-year-old Debra Sue Sutton was walking toward Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital when she was hit by a Toyota sedan in the 5000 block of J.H. Kultgen Expressway.

The driver immediately pulled over to check on her. Emergency responders arrived on the scene but were not able to resuscitate Sutton. She was pronounced dead and an autopsy has been ordered. 

Police said the preliminary investigation does not show any criminal offense occurred, but they will continue to investigate.
