A man was arrested on Sunday after police said he fled the scene and resisted officers.

According to Bellmead police, officers responded to the 4300 block of Polk Street about a disturbance at approximately 4:44 p.m. Officers said 41-year-old Torre Degrate was acting “funny” at a location and he also had a warrant for his arrest.

When officers arrived at the scene, Degrate began to flee failing to adhere to the officer’s instructions to stop. Officers then initiated their lights to have him stop, but he did not comply.

Degrate pulled into a gas station at the 1000 block of N. Loop 340, officers then attempted to take him into custody. He did not comply with handcuffing and physically resisted from officers threatening to kill them, according to Bellmead police.

A taser was deployed but was ineffective in getting him to comply. With further assistance from Lacy Lakeview police and TSTC police, Degrate was handcuffed and transported to McLennan County Jail.

Degrate was found to have a burglary of a habitation warrant arrest. He was also charged with evading arrest in a vehicle, resisting arrest and a terroristic threat against a public servant.

His bond is set at $22,000.
