Some Central Texas tech entrepreneurs are learning more about the world of technology.

Start Up Waco is hosting a new series of workshop classes focusing on computer programming and coding skills to help tech entrepreneurs and startups.

Organizers said these skills are important to Waco's future.

"Programming is one of the biggest industries everywhere in the world right now, and its only growing," Zack Manweiler, manager at Makers Edge Makerspace, said.

Manweiler taught the workshop Thursday night.

"We want Waco to be an innovative city where folks are kind of on the bleeding edge of new technologies and maybe even creating new technologies, you never know," Kevin Renois, program director for Start Up Waco, said.

The Coding 101 workshop was the first of four that are happening this summer.
