WACO, TX (KXXV) -

The work of a famous (and anonymous) street artist is coming to Waco.

Cultivate 7Twelve announced Wednesday that street artist Banksy's work would be featured for the first time in Texas at their venue.

Banksy's exhibition, "Writing on the Wall," will be featured in the event space from Sept. 7 until Sept. 29.

Banksy is known for creating art on street corners and on buildings unexpectedly. Banksy's work is known for strong political and social statements and is believed to be a driving force behind the street art movement.

“We are honored to have been given this opportunity at this time,” Rebekah Hagman, owner and director of Cultivate 7Twelve, said. “As Waco continues to blossom as a cultural arts hub, this is the perfect moment to be asking ourselves the questions Banksy poses: Who is art for? What makes art valuable? Who should profit from it? We are ready to make the most of this."

The event space is located at 712 Austin Avenue.
