Bellmead man arrested for sexually abusing neighbor's dog

BELLMEAD, TX (KXXV) -

The Bellmead Police Department said they arrested a man for sexually abusing a neighbor's dog on Saturday. He has been charged with bestiality, criminal trespass and evading arrest.

Police said the incident happened on the 2000 block of Montrose Street. They said that a witness on scene said he saw the suspect, 27-year-old Philip Mercon, sexually abusing a dog. 

Officers found Mercon with a dog in a fenced backyard of a neighbor. Mercon attempted to flee the scene, but officers were able to arrest him. 

They notified the dog's owners, and they said there are no reports of injury to the dog.
