NEW YORK (AP) — A former NFL cheerleader for the Houston Texans says the team abused her by forcing her to duct-tape her waist to make her look thinner.
Angelina Rosa made the claim on Friday while joining a lawsuit filed earlier this month by five other former Texans cheerleaders. They say they were underpaid and subjected to a hostile work environment.
Rosa appeared Friday at a news conference outside NFL headquarters on Friday with prominent women’s rights attorney Gloria Allred. She told reporters that on numerous occasions she was “belittled and body-shamed” for not being skinny enough.
There was no immediate comment from the NFL. A Texans spokeswoman has said the team is constantly evaluating its cheerleader program and makes changes as needed.
