For the 5th year in a row, the Stepp-Up Steppers, a social group in Killeen, are holding a four day Juneteenth celebration.
Hundreds of people traveled to Killeen to participate in numerous events and workshops on Chicago Style Stepping, an urban mix of ballroom and swing dancing.
The Juneteenth celebration starts Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Killeen Civic Center and lasts well into the night.
"We created the Juneteenth celebration, Chicago Style Stepping so that is our focus for a whole year to give to this event. And what we do is invite people from around the country, around the world to come to Killeen and celebrate Juneteenth along with learning the culture of Chicago Style Stepping," Kevin Henderson, the CEO of Stepp-Up Steppers, said.
To better accommodate the rapid growth of the event, next year's celebration will be in Austin.
