A group of American and British veterans are joining forces on a mission to raise awareness for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Six veterans, three from each country, are part of the Walking With The Wounded's "Walk of America."

They are making the journey, on foot, from Los Angeles to ground zero, where the Twin Towers once stood in New York.

The team is walking about 1,000 miles in 12 weeks to raise awareness for PTSD and the veterans suffering from it. Everyone involved said it's a great way to honor their brothers in arms.

On Wednesday, they walked about 18 miles from the Bell County Museum in Belton to the Starbucks on Clear Creek Road in Killeen.

Thursday, they will be hiking close to 20 miles from Georgetown to Walnut Creek.

The team said it's an amazing experience and they're honored to take on this mission together.

They began their journey in L.A. on June 2 and will end at ground zero in New York on September 6.
