TEMPLE, TX (KXXV) -

The suspect killed in an officer-involved shooting in Temple has been identified. 

Temple police said it happened just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9 at the Glen Apartments. 

Police said that when officers arrived at a disturbance, gunfire came from the indicated apartment. The officers shot at and struck the suspect. The suspect died at the scene. The man was identified as Timothy Owen, 49, by Bell County Justice of the Peace Don Engleking. 

Police said Owen was unknown to anyone living in the apartment where the incident happened. 

A man on the scene was hit in the arm by a bullet and taken to a local hospital. 

Two officers were placed on administrative leave while the Texas Rangers investigate, per protocol.

No other details were released.
