The Killeen Police Department is on a mission to build a relationship and trust with the community.
Friday, the department partnered with Chick-Fil-A in Killeen to host their "Soda Pop With A Cop" event.
Kids under twelve got a free kids meal from Chick-Fil-A and the chance to meet some of the boys in blue.
The kids got stickers and a balloon and some even got to climb inside a patrol car and take a picture with the officers.
Killeen police said events like this help the kids know that the cops are the good guys and seeing them cops in a positive light helps them grow into productive citizens
The department said the people of Killeen are the reason they wear the badge and they look forward to days like today.
