A Bell county babysitter who pleaded guilty to a second degree felony of injury to a child on Thursday was sentenced to probation.

According to Bell County District Attorney's Office, with the guilty plea she admitted to leaving 8-month-old Landon Rasmussen alone in a bathtub at a Killeen home in 2017, which resulted in his death.

The Bell County District Attorney's Office brought witnesses and asked for Rebecca Marie Estrada to serve between two and 20 years in prison.

Estrada's defense attorney argued she should receive probation. A judge sentenced the 30-year-old to 10 years deferred adjudication probation.

Bell County District Attorney Henry Garza said family members said after the sentencing family members explained how their lives had been destroyed by her actions.

Estrada's attorney said he was pleased with the outcome of the hearing.
