Police identify 19-year-old who died after morning run

The Harker Heights Police Department has released the name of the 19-year-old man who died his morning run on June 7.

Nicholas Tyler Thomas finished his morning run and was in the car with a family member according to Lt. Stephen Miller. The family member drove about a mile when he noticed Thomas had passed out. They then pulled over trying to revive him and called 911.

Harker Heights Emergency Services responded to Thomas passed out, unconscious and not breathing.

Police said first responders arrived and began CPR. However, after live-saving measures, Thomas was still unresponsive.

He was taken to Seton Hospital. Thomas was pronounced dead by the Bell County Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown. An autopsy has been ordered according to Harker Heights Police.
