This summer, the Temple law enforcement will be giving away free Slurpees to the good kids in Temple.

7-Eleven is working with local police and sheriff’s departments to distribute free Slurpee coupons to children through its Operation Chill program for the 23rd year in a row.

The TPD states the Slurpee coupon is used to enhance relationships with the young people of their cities by rewarding them for good deeds, constructive actives, and acts of kindness.

Appropriate “offenses” might include helping another people, deterring crime or participating in a community-or police-sponsored event.

Police Chief Floyd O. Mitchell stated, “The Temple Police Department is dedicated to enhancing our community policing activities. This program is an excellent way for members of our police department to interact and engage in dialogue with members of the community in a non-threatening, nonlaw-enforcement manner.”
