Stakeholders in Downtown Temple held the first planning meeting since joining the Texas Main Street Program.
About 28 stakeholders discussed a work plan and how they will move forward with downtown redevelopment. The Texas Historical Commission’s Texas Main Street Program shared ideas on design and they can assist Temple with the downtown project.
Nancy Glover with the Temple Convention and Visitors Bureau says they would like to see all building in downtown occupied. Their dream is to have all of the buildings renovated and looking like they did back in their glory days.
At the next Temple City Council meeting, a Main Street Advisory Committee will be established. The committee will help in all aspects of the downtown main street project.
