The Waco Police Department said they are looking for at least two suspects after a woman was attacked in the parking lot at Central Texas Marketplace on Friday evening.
Police said the 66-year-old victim was walking to her vehicle when a car pulled up to her. The suspect came out of the passenger side of the vehicle and sprayed her with a chemical similar to pepper-spray.
The suspect grabbed the woman’s purse and jumped back into the vehicle. The driver sped off, and witnesses rushed to help the woman.
Police said witnesses described the suspect as heavyset with a nylon scarf wrapped around their head. They are not sure the gender of either suspect.
Witnesses also told police that they were driving a tan-colored sedan.
