The Harker Heights Food Center said that they have been evicted from the Harker Heights First Baptist Church a recent change in pastoral leadership.

The church sought legal counsel and chose to send an eviction notice to force the community pantry out, the food center said.

Harker Heights served with the First Baptist Church for over 18 years.

The pantry has now joined the Harker Heights United Methodist Church. The re-opening will be held on June 23 at 208 W. Cardinal Lane in Harker Heights.

Harker Heights Food Center says it strives to “ensure everyone has access to sufficient nutritious food and create access to good, healthy food in our community.”

The hours and phone number of the community pantry will stay the same.
