Copperas Cove is working on plans to improve business Hwy-190 and wants the community's input.
The City of Copperas Cove joined TxDOT to hold a public information meeting at the Civic Center on Thursday. The plan is to modify business Hwy-190 between Constitution Drive and Avenue D.
The city said community input is important when moving forward. Several booths were set up with information and design plans, giving the community the chance to see what's in the works. They also got to ask any questions and get answers from TxDOT and those working on the project.
The designs include cutting the lanes from six down to four, allowing them to add raised medians and sidewalks.
The city said the safety concerns are the main reason for the new design.
