After leading the Live Oak Falcons to four state championships in six title appearances, Jordan Barker will no longer be head coach.
Athletics director, and Barker's replacement, Brice Helton, confirmed the news to Central Texas Sports Thursday morning.
Helton says Barker will remain on staff as offensive coordinator, but Helton will be the one in the head coach's role.
Barker went 89-24 since taking over as Falcons head coach in 2009. He says his other jobs will keep him from filling the head coach's position full time.
Barker works for Sturdisteel and while the company gave him off time for Live Oak's signature early morning practices, TAPPS rules are forcing the school to shift towards afternoon workouts, forcing Barker to have to miss some practices.
Helton has been on staff for the past two seasons and Barker says the program will be safe with him.
