Waco ready for Victory Bowl week

The Heart of Texas Fellowship of Christian Athletes will kickoff Super Centex Victory Bowl week on Monday, June 4th. 92 players, 24 volleyball players, 20 cheerleaders, 36 baseball players, 30 softball players, 16 golfers, 75 band members and 30 area head coaches make up this year’s tenth annual event serving 100 Central Texas high schools.

Making up bowl week will be practices, local outreaches, a trip to the Dr. Pepper History Museum, a Pancake Eating Contest, Rodeo Night, a Pep Rally, and most importantly the games.

All central Texas media are invited to attend anything listed on the schedule. Football, volleyball and cheerleaders will be in uniform for photos and interviews on Wednesday, June 6th from 1:30-2.30 PM in the University High School Gym. At the conclusion of the football game, media are encouraged to participate in voting for the Bob McQueen Offensive/Defensive MVP’s.

Tickets for volleyball, baseball and softball games are $5 and $5 (students) $10 (adults) for football and will be sold on game day. The golf tournament will be at Twin Rivers at 11:00 AM on the 4th and 9:00 AM on the 5th. The volleyball game will be played on Saturday at 12:30 pm at University High School, doors will open at 11:00 am. Parking for the volleyball game is free. The football game will be played on Saturday at 6:30pm at Waco ISD Stadium, gates will open at 5:00 pm. Parking for the football game is $5. Baseball and softball will be played on Friday at 6:30pm at UMHB, gates will open at 5:00pm. Parking for both games is free. Game programs and merchandise will be available for purchase. All proceeds go to support the local FCA Ministry. All of the community is welcome and encouraged to come support these local athletes.
