Memorial Day weekend is finally here and business owner wants to use the day to honor the reason behind the holiday, our military.
Jeff Smith, Owner of All About Stripes Guide Service, said he's been fishing for as long as he can remember.
"I have been fishing all my life. My dad and my grandpa used to take me out fishing when I was a young kid and it's just stuck," Smith said. "I'll probably fish for the rest of my life, I will never give it up."
This year, Smith decided to combine his love for fishing and appreciation for the military by giving away a free fishing trip to three veterans or active-duty service members on Memorial Day.
"We'll go fishing for a half day, it'll be a live-bait trip focusing on hybrid striped bass and we will do our best to put as many in the boat as we possibly can and show them a good time," Smith said.
If you are a veteran or active-duty service member and would like to enter to win, there are just a few steps to follow.
First, you have to like and share the All About Stripes Guide Service Facebook Page, then invite friends to the page. Lastly, you have to comment on the Memorial Day post with the number of years you served in the military.
"Those guys, they give more than anybody and they just deserve to be taken care of, you know, do to their sacrifices that they have made, it's time to give back to somebody else," Smith added.
You can enter the contest until 4 p.m. on Sunday, winners will be chosen randomly right after that.
