Man in critical condition after being hit by pickup

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) -

A man is in critical condition after he was hit by a pickup truck in Killeen on Wednesday afternoon.

Killeen police said witnesses told them the man was walking in and out of traffic on the road.

When police arrived, they found the man lying in the roadway. 

He was hit by a blue Dodge pickup occupied only by the driver near U.S. 190/ Interstate 14 near Cavender's Boot City on the access road.

The accident happened around 12:08 a.m.

The man was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White in Temple in critical condition.

Police said the driver of the Dodge was not hurt.
