Baylor men’s tennis juniors Johannes Schretter and Will Little will open play in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship Wednesday and Thursday at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C.

In the singles opening round, 63rd-ranked Schretter will play Wake Forest’s No. 38 Skander Mansouri at 4 p.m. CT Wednesday afternoon. In doubles, Schretter will team up with Little as the 15th-ranked doubles duo in the country and face Wake Forest’s 35th-ranked duo of Petros Chrysochos and Bar Botzer on Thursday with the time still to be determined.

Schretter’s selection marks the 17th-consecutive year that the Bears have had at least one competitor in the NCAA singles draw.

In singles, Schretter has compiled a 24-13 overall record and was 13-7 in dual-match play. The Graz, Austria native has won six matches against ranked opponents this season.

No. 15 Schretter and Little are 13-10 this season and 8-8 at the No. 1 spot. They boast a 5-4 record against ranked opponents in 2018 with the biggest coming against then-No. 7 Victor Pham and Jackie Tang of Columbia in the Bears’ matchup against then-No. 14 Columbia at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships on Feb. 17. The duo was ranked as high as No. 2 this season.

All matches will be the best-of-three sets. No-ad scoring and a 7-point tiebreaker at six-games-all will be used for all matches. In doubles, a 10-point match tiebreaker will be played in lieu of a third set.
