This year, 2018, marks the 100th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner consistently being played at baseball games. On Saturday, May 26, 2018, the Cameron Yoe High School band will join in that tradition by performing the national anthem before the Texas Rangers take on the Kansas City Royals in Arlington.

The students and band teachers are excited about the opportunity. Band Director, Craig George says that they are nervous and excited at the same time.

Ny’ely Yglecias, a junior at Yoe High School is proud to represent her town.

“Everybody sees Cameron and they know we have a good band and they look at us with high expectations and seeing that we are doing this, it’s such an honor,” she said.

There is an opportunity to join the Yoe Band and sit with them during the game. Special ticket packages are available here.
