The Temple Police Department said there was a major accident on I-35 northbound at exit 304, or H K Dodgen Loop. TxDOT said all lanes were blocked after a pedestrian was killed earlier Friday morning.
Police said they received a call about the accident at 5:46 a.m.
They said that a man was riding in the bed of a pickup and fell out of the truck into the highway. He was struck by several vehicles.
The driver of the truck was not aware he had fallen off. Once he discovered the man was missing, he went to go look for him.
There does not appear to be any criminal violations as a result of this accident. Temple Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate.
Traffic is back to normal.
