The Dallas Police Department said that Safer Dallas, Better Dallas dedicated a new "Employee Down Room" within the communication call center.
This room is for dispatchers who need to retreat after handling a stressful call or situation. The room is fully furnished and had mood lighting. The room also uses aromatherapy to relieve stress.
Major Elaine Page said, “After listening to call takers managing different critical calls, I realized a down room was much needed.”
