A Nueces County man admitted to distributing child pornography on two occasions Wednesday, according to the U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Patrick.

David Medina was identified by the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force in September 2016 when they linked several child porn images from his IP address. After agents obtained a search warrant, they seized several digital devices from Medina. There were 3,500 images and 28 videos of child pornography.

In another investigation into Medina, officials found a different computer sharing child pornography. After obtaining the cellular phone, more than 1,000 images and 95 videos of child pornography were found.

On Feb.21, Medina was found renting a room where images were downloaded, and he again admitted to distributing child pornography.

U.S. District Judge John D. Rainey accepted the guilty plea, and Medina faces a minimum of five years and up to 20 years in prison. He is set to sentencing Aug. 21.
