A B.O.P.A. Waste Diversion Event is being held by the Waco Solid Waste Services on May 19 from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the operations center.
B.O.P.A. stands for batteries/ fluorescent bulbs/ CFL, oil, latex paint and antifreeze. The reason for the important event is so residents dispose of B.O.P.A. waste in the proper way.
Anna Dunbar, environmental program manager for Waco Solid Waste, said all cities are partnering up to work together to have a waste event.
The event is being held for Waco, Hewitt, Lacy Lakeview and Woodway. For more information about the event, contact Waco Solid Waste at (254) 299-2612.
