East Waco Library hosts the “Bad Friends & Monsters” art exhibit and book release Thursday night from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Waco ISD Superintendent Dr. Marcus Nelson declared literacy to be one of the top priorities for Waco ISD, and the art club at J. H. Hines Elementary has done their part to help students enjoy reading.
Author Ashley Bean Thornton has two stories in the book, and the illustrations were done by the J. H. Hines art club.
The community will get a chance to meet the author and the artists at the book release. There will be a limited number of copies for $10, and the proceeds will support the J. H. Hines art club.
