First responders were treated to lunch Monday at the second annual McLennan County First Responders’ Luncheon.
Twelve local companies sponsored the event that included a burger from Captain Billy Whizzbang’s, chips, drink, and a desert. The sponsors help cover the cost of the food, tables, chairs, a tent to sit under, and door prizes that were given out to first responders.
Organizers of the event say it’s all about showing appreciation to those who serve our communities. This is the second year they have held the event and they plan to continue next year.
First responders who were on duty and not able to make it to luncheon had lunch delivered to them by volunteers.
