Copperas Cove ISD names new athletic director and head football coach

COPPERAS COVE, TX (KXXV) -

The Copperas Cove Independent School District said they have named a new athletic director and head football coach who is replacing former coach Jack Welsh.

School officials announced today that Jack Alvarez will be the new head football coach and athletic director. 

I look forward to building a state championship caliber football program and begin the next chapter of my coaching career. I have high expectations for not only the football program but all athletic programs and looks forward to working with the students and staff at Copperas Cove ISD. - Jack Alvarez 

Alvarez graduated from Henderson State University and is a former graduate assistant at McNeese State and Northwestern State University. 

Alvarez served as head football coach of the Ennis Lions for seven seasons with a record of 60-25 and a record of 165-74 overall in his twentieth year as head football coach.  

Alvarez was born in Blytheville, Arkansas and was raised in Monette, Arkansas.
