A unique memorial service was held today by the Texas Tenth Court of Appeals and Waco McLennan County Bar Association.

The annual Joint Convocation was held at the Baylor Law School for six lawyers that have died in the past year. The Waco McLennan County Bar Association is one of only three that has a service like this in the state of Texas.

The six lawyers memorialized were Tom Blankenship, Claude Ray "Dogie" Giles, Danny Makowsky, Charles B. McGregor, Thomas Moore, Jr., and Leslie August Rasner.

Local lawyer and past president of the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association, John Palmer, has been a presenter in the past.

“For the family members to see, the court to see other lawyers that are here to honor those folks that have passed away. I think it's just something that will always be something that the people can always know in their hearts that they were loved and also cherished and respected in the legal community," said Palmer.

During the program, flowers were given to each family from the Waco McLennan County Bar Association.
