UMHB BASEBALL PLACES THREE ON ASC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball team placed three players on the American Southwest Conference All-Conference Teams released Wednesday (May 9th). The Cru had one Second Team selection and two Honorable Mention honorees.

Dakota Best claimed a spot on the ASC All-Conference Second Team. Best, a sophomore outfielder from Giddings High School, led UMHB and ranks fourth in the ASC with a .416 batting average this season. He also led the Cru with 52 hits, 29 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. Best added nine doubles and 19 RBI on the season.

Casey Frazier and Malek Bolin both earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors. Frazier, a senior pitcher from Salado High School, was 2-2 with a 3.58 ERA despite battling injuries during the season. He struck out 31 batters and walked just five in 27.2 innings of work. Bolin, a freshman from Chisolm Trail High School in Fort Worth, earned Honorable Mention honors as a utility player. Bolin started games at first base, third base and designated hitter this season. He batted .318 and tied for the team lead with five home runs. Bolin drove in 16 runs and posted a slugging percentage of .511 on the year.

This is the second ASC All-Conference honor for both Best and Frazier. Bolin earns All-Conference honors for the first time in his career. The Cru finished 10-29 overall and went 6-18 in ASC play this season.
