Two suspects were indicted on Wednesday after an officer-involved shooting on May 3.
Three suspects were arrested in the officer-involved shooting in May, and 19-year-old Dravodric Broneshae Johnson and 23-year-old Donzavier Jamar Thompson were indicted on Wednesday.
According to Waco police, the incident happened just after 9:30 p.m. near N. Seventh Street and Maryland Avenue. Police said officers were in pursuit of a stolen truck when what was believed to be four suspects exited the vehicle. Two suspects were caught in surrounding yards.
The two suspects were identified as Thompson and a 15-year-old girl. They were both charged with theft- stolen vehicle. Thompson is being held at McLennan County Jail. His bond is set at $9,000.
Police said that one suspect, identified as Johnson, tried to steal a truck that was traveling in the area. That's when officers said the citizens fought back against the Johnson, one holding on to the truck and being dragged.
Johnson then began to drive the truck toward officers, striking a patrol car in the process, which was then pushed into a crime scene unit vehicle. Waco police said officers did begin to shoot at the truck as it traveled toward them but did not strike the suspect.
The suspect crashed the truck and was taken into custody. This suspect faces nine counts of aggravated assault against a public servant, as well as one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated robbery.
Johnson is being held in McLennan County Jail. His bond is set at over $1 million.
