A woman in Bellmead has been arrested for aggravated assault after she threatened two people with a box cutter while trying to get access to an ATM on Thursday.

Bellmead police said when they responded to a call of a fight in process, they found multiple suspects yelling and physically fighting at a gas station off Interstate 35.

When the fight separated, police learned all those involved, 41-year-old Sonya Marin and her son and a 23-year-old man and his 21-year-old wife, were trying to access a drive-thru ATM at the same time.

During the argument, Marin threatened the husband and wife with a box cutter, police said. The man and Marin's son worked together to disarm her, but she continued to physically fight the woman, injuring her.

EMTC responded to the scene and treated her, but she was not taken to the hospital.

Marin was taken to the McLennan County Jail for two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon.
