The Waco officers involved in a shooting that occurred on April 12, have been cleared by a grand jury according to the Waco Police Department.
A McLennan County Grand Jury met on Wednesday and has completed their review of the shooting that occurred in the 3800 block of Speight.
The involved officers were cleared of any criminal wrongdoing on their parts.
The Waco Police Department Special Crimes Unit along with the Texas Rangers completed a joint criminal investigation and forwarded their investigation to the McLennan County District Attorney office.
The Waco Police Chief released the following statement:
“I appreciate the work of the Special Crimes Unit, the Texas Rangers, the DA’s office and the Grand Jury. These situations are tragic for the Officers involved and for the family who is dealing with their grief. The family will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers and we’ll continue to support the Officers as they move forward from this traumatic event.”
