The Cameron Park Zoo director resigned after 18 years.
Jim Fleshman resigned Tuesday to explore other options in his career. The zoo said that in his 18 years, Fleshman oversaw exhibit expansions and developed the zoo into a "world institution contributing to conservation efforts globally."
Johnny Binder is currently serving as interim director until a permanent replacement can be found.
