The McLennan Highlassies dropped both games of today’s doubleheader with the Hill Lady Rebels on the road in Hillsboro.

Hill took game one 9-7 with Emily Klanika taking the loss in the circle.

McLennan began the scoring with two runs in the top of the first inning. Cassie Pavlas led off with a double. Kaitlin Richards and Ariana Hernandez both walked to load the bases. Emeri Eubanks was safe at first on an error that brought Pavlas in to score. Richards then scored on a single by Genisa Marrero-Carter.

Hill got on the board with a run in the bottom of the first as Briana Cantu was safe at first and moved to second on an error, advanced to third on a ground out by Helena Febre, and scored on a double by Mariah Delgado.

The Highlassies extended their lead with four runs in the second. Pavlas singled, Olivia Lantigua walked, and Richards singled to load the bases. Hernandez followed with a fielder’s choice, putting Pavlas out at the plate and scoring Lantigua. Eubanks followed with a three-run homer.

McLennan added another run in the third as Breanna Heredia was hit by the pitch, moved to second on a single by Zayra Olguin, advanced to third on a Hill error, and scored on a single by Richards.

The Lady Rebels scored four in the bottom of the third. Cantu singled and moved to second on a ground out by Febre. Delgado was safe at first on a McLennan error. Alyssa De Los Santos followed with a three-run homer. Omni Garcia was then safe at first and moved to second on another Highlassie error, and scored on a double by Madelyn Prukop.

Hill scored four runs in the fourth to take the lead and round out the scoring. Cantu walked, Febre was safe on an error and Delgado walked, loading the bases. Christina Garcia followed with the grand slam.

Hill defeated McLennan 10-9 in the nightcap with Victoria Vasquez taking the loss in relief of starter Emily Gray.

The Highlassies’ first run came in the top of the second as Hernandez walked, moved to second on a single by Brittany Montoya, and scored on a single by Olguin.

The Lady Rebels tied the game with a run in the bottom of the inning as Christina Garcia doubled and scored on a ground out by Prukop.

McLennan took the lead with another run in the fourth inning as Olguin doubled and scored on a single by Pavlas.

Hill took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Delgado and De Los Santos both walked and scored on the three-run homer by Christina Garcia.

The Lady Rebels added two more runs in the fifth. Febre doubled and scored on a double by De Los Santos. Christina Garcia then singled to score De Los Santos.

The Highlassies began the comeback with three runs in the sixth. Heredia walked and Olguin singled. Both runners advanced on a ground out by Pavlas and scored on a double by Lantigua. Lantigua then moved to third on a ground out by Richards and scored on a single by Eubanks.

McLennan took the lead with four runs in the top of the seventh inning. Marrero-Carter led off with a single, and both runners were safe on a fielder’s choice by Heredia. Pavlas singled to score Marrero-Carter. Lantigua followed with a triple, scoring Heredia and Pavlas. Lantigua then scored on a Hill error.

Hill stole the win with four runs in the bottom of the inning. De Los Santos doubled and Omni Garcia singled. Baylee Taylor replaced De Los Santos as a pinch runner, and Prukop was hit by the pitch to load the bases. Taylor came in to score on a ground out by Sabrina Trahan. Madison Livers then walked to reload the bases. Cantu singled to score Omni Garcia. Febre followed with the walk-off double, scoring Prukop ad Livers.

McLennan will host Temple for a 1 p.m. doubleheader Wednesday at Bosque River Ballpark.
