Teen confesses to breaking into 13 vehicles parked near Baylor

During an investigation for other crimes, a 17-year-old confessed to breaking into several vehicles in Waco with two other people. 

Isaac Rodriguez confessed to breaking into 13 vehicles parked on or near Baylor's campus between March 24 and 27. Nine burglaries happened in the East Campus Parking Garage, three in the Dutton Parking Garage and one in the Eighth Street Parking Garage.

Sunglasses, an ignition key, loose change, an iPhone 4, a Garmin, a Samsung Galaxy Note and about $156 were stolen from the vehicles. Police recovered everything except the money was recovered from Rodriguez. One vehicle owner reported nothing stolen, but the vehicle had a drained battery from the door being left open. 

The arrest affidavit said of the 13 vehicles, none of them had forced entry.

The confession was made during an interview with police on April 4. On April 5, Rodriguez was charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief and theft of property. After the investigation of the car burglaries, he was also charged with 13 counts of burglary of a motor vehicle.
