No. 25 Baylor women’s tennis hits the road for its final dual match of the regular season at No. 5 Texas on Friday, April 20. First serve is set for 5 p.m. (CT) at Texas Tennis Center in Austin, Texas.

The Bears own a five-match win streak, are 16-11 overall and 4-4 in Big 12 action. The Longhorns will be Baylor’s 16th ranked opponent of the season.

“Friday is a great opportunity for our team to take another step forward,” head coach Joey Scrivano said. “Texas, hands down, is the best team in the league this year and is one of the best teams in the country. We’re getting an opportunity to compete with them and see where we stand. Anytime you get that opportunity, it’s a great thing.”

Freshman Livia Kraus and sophomore Camilla Abbate have each won six consecutive singles matches, followed by sophomore Angelina Shakhraichuk, who has registered five wins in a row. Kraus leads the way for the Bears with 22 wins on the season, followed closely by sophomore Jessica Hinojosa, who has notched 21 on the year.

Texas enters the match with an 8-0 mark in conference play, an 18-4 record overall and a perfect 10-0 resume at home. Against nationally ranked opponents, the Longhorns are 11-3.

Top-ranked Bianca Turati leads Texas in Oracle/ITA singles rankings, followed by Anna Turati at No. 28 and Petra Granic at No. 69. In doubles Oracle/ITA rankings, Granic and Bojana Markovic represent the Longhorns.
