A Central Texas teacher has been suspended after challenging students to put tape on their mouths, according to the school's spokesperson.
The incident happened on Tuesday at Harmony Science Academy in Waco, when the teacher challenged students in the classroom to stay quiet because of how loud they were being.
The teacher asked students to stay quiet and if they couldn't the teacher told them to put tape on their mouths.
The school administration found out about the incident and suspended the teacher following the incident.
Harmony Science Academy released the following statement:
While yesterday’s incident involved kids using common scotch tape, we hold our ourselves to a higher standard. After investigating, we have placed the teacher in question on administrative leave.
