A group in Randolph County is still working to get a wet/dry vote on the ballot this November.

Linda Bowlin is leading the charge to allow Randolph County citizens to vote on the issue.

A group made the effort in 2016, but the issue never made it to the ballot.

Bowlin said the group, formerly called Keep Revenue in Randolph County, is now named Let Randolph County Vote.

She said it's been nearly 70 years since the issue was on a ballot in the county and it's time citizens voiced their opinion.

She says around 25 volunteers are working to get signatures on a petition to help get the issue on the ballot.

The group needs around 4,000 signatures to move forward with the effort.

"It's signing the petition just to give us the right to vote on it," she said.  "If we vote on it and Randolph County votes it down you'll never hear from a group trying to get signatures again."

She said anyone who would like to sign the petition can drop by Bella Piazza Restaurant in Pocahontas.

Bowlin also said anyone who would like more information or to join the group can go to their Facebook page Let Randolph County Vote.
