(RNN) – Parker Curry, the toddler in the ‘Little Girl in Awe of Michelle Obama’ viral photo, got more than an acknowledgement from the former first lady, she got her own personal dance party with her.
Just five days after the photo of little Parker staring at Mrs. Obama’s portrait emerged, she was seen dancing in a video with the woman who her mom says she calls a “queen”.
Michelle Obama tweeted a short video of an excited Harper, showing up Mrs. Obama with her dance moves.
Parker, I'm so glad I had the chance to meet you today (and for the dance party)! Keep on dreaming big for yourself...and maybe one day I'll proudly look up at a portrait of you! pic.twitter.com/faUVTsYWun— Michelle Obama (@MichelleObama) March 6, 2018
The original photo has been shared thousands of times around the world after fellow portrait onlooker, Ben Hines, posted it to his Facebook page on Thursday.
The Obama’s portraits, created by artists, Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald, were unveiled on Feb. 12, at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery.
Sherald, the artist behind Michelle Obama’s portrait took to her Instagram page to express how the photo of Parker made her feel.
The post even got a little love from Michelle Obama herself, when she commented with three ‘Smiling Face with Heart-Shaped Eyes’ emojis.
At the portrait unveiling, Mrs. Obama made a statement during her speech saying she hoped little girls and girls of color would one day find inspiration in the portrait.
"(Girls and girls of color) will see an image of someone who looks like them hanging on the walls of this great American institution... and I know the kind of impact that will have on their lives because I was one of those girls," said Michelle Obama.
