Longview's Amnesty Program Open through March 31st

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

Longview Municipal Court is offering a warrant amnesty program from now until the end of March 2018.

Anyone with an outstanding warrant through court is encouraged to take this chance to save money and begin a new start. Those who come to the clerk's office to clear their outstanding warrants will be given safe harbor.

Residents, who come voluntarily and either pays in full or pay a minimum of half the total amount due and starts a payment plan for the balanced owed, will have all warrant fees removed. As an added incentive to pay in full, citizens can save an additional 20% off the fine amount. The percentage savings is only towards the fine, not the court costs. The more you owe, the more you save.

There will be offered assistance to individuals who are short on funds and are planning to use income tax refunds to clear their warrants. Residents that visit the court now, could have their warrants lifted and be given an extension of time to pay.
